HARBOUR ISLAND
Pink Sands is a 20-acre haven set by the edge of famous three-mile pink sand beach. Designed by Biba founder Barbara Hulanicki, Pink Sands comprises 25 pastel-colored cottages scattered throughout lush tropical grounds.
Pink Sands has long enjoyed a devoted following on this quiet Bahamas Out Island, offering a sophisticated hideaway to travellers for more than 40 years. The hotel is designed in an eclectic mixture of styles - Moroccan, Indian, and Balinese.
The cottages are designed to ensure privacy for all guests and are the perfect choice for those desiring a sophisticated but relaxed beach holiday.

Travelling around the island is easy since the island is only 3 1/2 miles long and 1/2 mile wide and has a resident population of 2,000. Most visitors use bicycles or golf carts as the preferred mode of transportation.

Located 50 miles east of Nassau on Harbour Island, only 15 minutes from Eleuthera International Airport by taxi and water taxi. Only three miles in length and a half-mile in width, Harbour Island is known for its fabulous pink sand beach and island hospitality. The island is accessible via the North Eleuthera (ELH) airport, with service from Miami, Ft. Lauderdale and Nassau. Delta Airlines also has non-stop service from Atlanta.

The hotel has recently been refurbished with new soft furnishings, furniture and fixtures throughout the hotel and within the rooms. Some changes include:

ACCOMMODATION:

Oceanview cottages are privately situated with stunning views to the Atlantic Ocean and pink sand beach, and have a private pathway to the beach.
The two-bedroom oceanview cottages have a sitting room/lounge that separates the 2 bedrooms each with full bathrooms.
There is a deluxe two-bedroom oceanview (Bimini cottage) that has a private Jacuzzi on the large outside deck overlooking the beach.

DINING:
Garden Terrace
Romantic candlelight dinners are served alfresco at the Garden Terrace restaurant from 7:00 to 9:00 PM. Dinner features a three-course set menu (until 25th October 2007), changed daily, with a choice of five appetizers and five entrees selection of desserts. The menu features a fusion of world class cuisines.

Blue Bar
The Blue Bar is located at the beach and open daily for lunch (a la carte) and beverages from 11:30 AM to 4:00 PM. Breakfast is served at the Blue Bar from 7:30 AM to 10:30 AM.

TRAVEL TO PINK SANDS:
From North Eleuthera airport, there is a land taxi to the North Eleuthera dock, a water taxi to Harbour Island, followed by a land taxi to Pink Sands. Total transfer time is 15 minutes. Alternatively, a high speed fast ferry (approx. 2 hours) services Harbour Island daily from Nassau, departing Nassau at 8:00 AM and returning at 3:50 PM.
